  AuRico Gold Inc. (ehemals Gammon Gold) gab gestern bekannt, dass die bereits angekündigte Übernahme von Northgate Minerals Corporation erfolgreich abgeschlossen wurde. Das neue Unternehmen betreibt zunächst 5 Goldminen und 2012 noch eine weitere. Hinzu kommen 3 Gold-Entwicklungsprojekte in Mexiko, Kanada und Australien.

• AuRico Gold Inc. und Northgate Minerals Corp.: Breite Zustimmung für Transaktion

  AuRico Gold Inc. (ehemals Gammon Gold) und Northgate Minerals Corporation gaben bekannt, dass die große Mehrheit der Aktionäre beider Unternehmen für die Übernahme von Northgate durch AuRico Gold gestimmt hat. Gestern hatten die entsprechenden außerordentlichen Versammlungen stattgefunden. Die Aktionäre von AuRico stimmten mit 99,1% für die geplante Transaktion, von den Northgate-Aktionären stimmten 98,6% mit 'ja'.

• Northgate Minerals Corp. meldet gute Produktionsergebnisse

  Northgate Minerals Corporation veröfentlichte gestern die Produktionsergebnisse des dritten Quartals 2011. In den drei Monaten bis zum 30. September produzierten die Minen Fosterville und Stawell zusammen 50.014 oz Gold, verglichen mit dem vorherigen Quartal konnte damit ein Anstieg um 14% verzeichnet werden. Fosterville lieferte 29.954 oz und Stawell 20.060 oz.

  Northgate Minerals Corporation veröffentlichte gestern die Ergebnisse von vier jüngst abgeschlossenen Diamantbohrlöchern bei Young-Davidson. Zwei der Bohrlöcher wurden in der YD-West-Zone gebohrt. • AuRico Gold's Acquisition of Northgate Minerals Receives Overwhelming Support of Shareholders

  AuRico and Northgate are pleased to announce that shareholders of both companies have voted overwhelmingly in favour of the acquisition of Northgate by AuRico at their respective special meetings held earlier today.   Northgate is pleased to announce its third quarter 2011 operating results, highlighted by record gold production for the second consecutive quarter from its Fosterville mine.
