Drilling Results from Tri Origin's Sky Lake Gold Project, Ontario
Seven holes were completed for a total of 1,180 metres of drilling. Holes targeted induced polarization (IP) geophysical anomalies within a 1.5 kilometre-long area at the east-central part of the property. Five of the seven holes successfully intersected sulphide-bearing rocks that would explain the IP anomalies and two holes did not explain their targets. Sulphide-bearing intervals ranged from 1 to 17 metres in core length and generally averaged between 1% and 4% combined pyrrhotite and pyrite although locally, intervals up to 0.5 metres in length contained up to 50% of the sulphide minerals. Anomalous gold values (from 50 to 970 ppb) were returned from 26 of the 178 samples submitted for assay. Although gold values obtained from these holes were low, Tri Origin remains optimistic about its prospects at Sky Lake and is planning additional drilling.
The Sky Lake gold property covers a 23 kilometre long portion of a well-mineralized belt of volcanic and sedimentary rock that lies midway between the past-producing gold deposits of the 2 million ounce Pickle Lake Gold District to the northeast and the Golden Patricia gold mine to the west. The geological environment being investigated by the Company strongly resembles that hosting the important 25 million ounce Bousquet-LaRonde Gold District in Quebec.
The program at Sky Lake was supervised by Mr Frank Kendle and conducted by Mr Martin King, both exploration geologists with over 25 years of experience in mineral exploration. Gold assaying was conducted by SGS Laboratories ("SGS") at its lab in Red Lake, Ontario which is certified for the work undertaken. A fire assay/atomic absorption method on 30 gram samples was used. Samples were prepared for assay by SGS from sawn, BTW-size drill core taken from continuous intervals of drill core, generally between 0.5 and 1.0 metre in length.
