Drilling Progress at Tri Origin's RLX and Sky Lake Gold Projects, Ontario
The program at RLX consisted of approximately 820 metres of drilling in 6 widely-spaced holes at the northwest part of the property and the program at Sky Lake consisted of approximately 1,180 metres in 7 holes. Drill core from both programs has been logged and samples have been submitted for assay. It is expected that assay results for both programs will be received by the Company during early January.
RLX is a gold exploration project covering an area of 121 square kilometres located at the southeast part of the Red Lake Gold Mining District contiguous with Goldcorp Inc.'s Red Lake Mine property. The highly prolific Red Lake District hosts major operating and past-producing gold mines and has produced over 20 million ounces of gold. The property is subject to a 4 year, earn-in option agreement with Osisko Mining Corporation ("Osisko") which may earn a 51% interest in RLX by fully funding a total of $5 million of exploration over a four year period. The drill program comprises the final portion of the $600,000 first year exploration expenditure commitment agreed to by Osisko.
The Sky Lake gold property covers a 23 kilometre long portion of a well-mineralized belt of volcanic and sedimentary rock that lies midway between the past-producing gold deposits of the 2 million ounce Pickle Lake Gold District to the northeast and the Golden Patricia gold mine to the west. The geological environment being investigated by the Company strongly resembles that hosting the important 25 million ounce Bousquet-LaRonde Gold District in Quebec.
Final results from these drilling programs will be released following their receipt and review by the Company.
