Westmoreland Announces Sentinels of Safety Award for Exemplary Safety Performance
Westmoreland Coal Company (NasdaqGM:WLB) today announced that its
Western Energy Company subsidiary was awarded the Sentinels of Safety
Award by the National Mining Association. The Sentinels of Safety is the
most distinguished safety award in ?the United States ?mining industry and
is awarded on an annual basis to mining facilities based on size and
mining method. Western Energy Company was recognized in the large
surface coal category for its performance throughout 2011 without a
single lost-time accident.
