Northcore Resources Inc.: Drilling Program on Little Monster
The Little Monster property is comprised of 20 cells covering an area of 1,040 hectares located in the Chibougamau gold camp in the province of Quebec. The property is located in the South-East Fancamp formation corridors and borders contiguously to the East, TomaGold Corporation. TomaGold announced yesterday a new and major discovery (237.6 g/t Au over 5.7 m - PR April 11, 2012) on its Monster Lake property, adjacent to our Northern border.
As reported by our joint venture partner, Vanstar Resources, in a press release dated April 11,2012, the Monster Lake property is also known to contain many gold, silver and copper showings, namely, Cominco (1.37 g/t Au over 2.1 m - channel sampling), Zone 45 (2.09 g/t Au over 3.2 m including 4.34 g/t Au over 1.15 m), Zone 52 (2.24 g/t Au over 14.0 m including 11.33 g/t Au, 13.1 g/t Ag and 0.63 % Cu over 2.0 m), Drill hole 993-91-33 (4.57 g/t Au over 1.0 m) and Trois chemin (106.7 g/t Au in a chosen sample).
In the area of the Fancamp formation corridor, which is known for many dozens of kilometres, we can find many gold deposits and showings, namely :
Monster Lake - 237.60 g/t Au over 5.7 metres ( M-12-60 / PR April 11, 2012)
76.53 g/t Au over 2 metres (drill hole M-24-11- PR August 16, 2011)
8.38 g/t Au over 2 metres (drill hole M-36-11)
Chevrier - 8.3 million mt with grades of 2.28 g/t Au (GM 52088)
Chevrier Sud - 230 million mt with grades of 0.3 g/t Au (MB-97-32)
Murgor A and B - 45.76 g/t Au over 6.10 metres (GM29936- channel)
12.70 g/t Au over 3 metres (GM 29936- drilling)
Murgor C - 4.17 g/t Au over 3 metres (GM51718- drilling)
Winchester - 1.07 g/t Au over 1.52 metres (GM43518)
Monster Lake - 76.53 g/t Au over 2 metres (drill hole M-24-11- PR August 16, 2011)
8.38 g/t Au over 2 metres ( drill hole M-36-11)
Croteau - 12.74 g/t Au over 5.85 metres ( drill hole CRO11- 05- PR March 1st, 2012)
12.76 g/t Au over 8.75 metres ( drill hole CRO11-05)
4.58 g/t Au over 6 metres ( drill hole CRO11-06)
Most of the structures that intersect the Fancamp formation corridor generated numerous gold exploration targets. In the South-West extension of the property, lies the Opawica-Guercheville deformation zone which contains the important Obatogameau Fault. Many gold deposits and showings can also be found in this area, namely the Philibert deposits ( 1.4 million mt @ 5.32 g/t Au - DV-93-01 ), Lac Meston ( 1.225 million mt @ 6.35 g/t Au - MB-89-17 ) or the former Joe Mann Mine ( 1.52 million mt @ 11 g/t Au - GM 44408 )
These works will be under the supervision of Mr. Daniel Kelly, independent engineer and Qualified Person under NI 43-101. Mr. Kelly read and approved this press release.
We are extremely happy with this new discovery and look forward to starting our drilling campaign. The Little Monster project is a 50-50 joint-venture with Vanstar Resources which acts as the project manager.
