Arrowstar Exploration Results on Roberts Lake, Quebec Identifies 68.5% Magnetic Susceptibility in Iron Ore Sample 13
Highlights:
- Analysis of the results from the Davis Tube Test completed on the Roberts Lake Iron Ore samples showed high levels of magnetic susceptibility. This augers well for the possibility of dry magnetic separation when the deposit is commercialized.
- The highest Fe sample, sample 23 showed 45.6% magnetic susceptibility however this iron doesn't need to be beneficiated to a higher grade, however if beneficiated wet magnetic or heavy medium process will beneficiate it to a higher value Fe.
VANCOUVER, Aug. 15, 2012 /CNW/ - Robert L. Card, President of Arrowstar Resources Ltd., ("Arrowstar" or the "Company") (TSXV: AWS), is pleased to report that Phillip Thomas, Vice-President Exploration and Director has completed the Davis Tube Test analysis on 24 rock chip samples collected at the Roberts Lake property in the Ungava region, Quebec, Canada. This property is on a category two land classification where mining is permitted.
The results were very encouraging. The results of the iron ore samples are as follows:
Item | Test Number | Sample id | Start g | Mag g | Non mag g | Mag % | Fe % |
8 | DT8 | 8 of 24 | 26.279 | 0.052 | 26.227 | 0.20 | 30.68 |

12 | DT12 | 13 of 24 | 16.966 | 8.509 | 8.457 | 50.15 | 40.74 |

16 | DT16 | 17 of 24 | 15.459 | 9.151 | 6.308 | 59.20 | 44.95 |
17 | DT17 | 18 of 24 | 20.876 | 4.926 | 15.950 | 23.60 | 30.29 |
18 | DT18 | 19 of 24 | 18.866 | 9.813 | 9.053 | 52.01 | 51.58 |
23 | DT23 | 24 of 24 | 26.900 | 12.272 | 14.628 | 45.62 | 63.90 |
The balance of the samples were not magnetite bearing.
The samples 13, 14, 15, and 16 represent excellent values for dry magnetic separation and will yield very high Fe values on beneficiation once the crush size has been determined.
Arrangements are being made for a ground based magnetic study to be completed.
