Maudore Minerals Ltd.: Continuing Good Drilling Results from Osbell Resource Area and Eastern and Western Extensions
MONTREAL, QUEBEC -- (Marketwire) -- 02/01/12 -- Maudore Minerals Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: MAO)(OTCBB: MAOMF)(FRANKFURT: M6L) is very pleased to report additional drill results from the Osbell Resource Area and the potential Eastern and Western Extensions (outside the Osbell Resource Area) on the Comtois property located near Lebel-sur-Quevillon, north of Val-d'Or, Quebec, Canada.
CEO Ron Shorr noted that 'high grade holes were added in both the resource area ('infill' or development) and in the potential extensions ('step out' or exploration). Exploration holes, however, are not necessarily expected to produce the same continuity of results as development holes until we have a better understanding of the plunge, dip and strike of the Western and Eastern extensions. Also, exploration drilling will proceed more slowly due to assay dependence on recent prior holes. We are very encouraged by the drilling so far on these extensions.'
COMTOIS - OSBELL RESOURCE AREA
The Osbell Resource area continues to yield high grade intercepts as well as broad mineralized intervals over the entire Osbell trend (refer to Table 1 and Figure 1 for detailed results).

COMTOIS DRILLING - OUTSIDE RESOURCE AREA
Potential Eastern Extension
The Eastern Extension has produced significant gold results. This potential trend spreads over a 2.5km strike length, from the current eastern end of the Osbell Resource area (Camten Zone) to the Greer Showing (3.9 g/t gold over 2.0m: COM-97-26), and due to holes 771 and 766, extends beyond that showing (Refer to Table 1 and Figure 1 for detailed results).
Additional significant gold results were added to the exceptional drill intercept of 673.0 g/t gold over 0.5m (COM-11-795) reported in our last press release. This had the effect of modifying the overall intercept:
-- 199.0 g/t gold over 1.7 m from 271.5 to 273.2m (core length(i)).
(i) Uncut and new estimated true width in the order of 1.50m. The original intercept, published Nov. 1, 2011, was 153.2 g/t gold over 2.2m (core length, with an estimated true width of about 1.75m).
Within the same drill hole, 3 significant gold results follow this exceptional intercept:
-- 2.5 g/t gold over 0.5m from 276.9 to 277.4m, 1.1 g/t gold over 0.6m from
282.9 to 283.5 and 1.4 g/t gold over 0.6m from 291.2 to 291.8m
Drill hole COM-11-795 is located approximately 285m south of the Camten Zone (eastern limit of the known resources). Anomalous zinc values, up to 1.0% Zn, were obtained from drill holes COM-11-801 (1.6% Zn over 1.0m from 287.3 to 288.3m) and COM-11-809 (1.2% Zn over 0.5m from 301.6 to 302.1m). These values were intercepted above and laterally from drill hole COM-11-795 (673.0 g/t gold over 0.5m). Gold-zinc association in that area is similar to Camten Area mineralization.
References in this press release to zinc intercepts in no way indicates a change in focus to the development of a zinc deposit. It is, however, a potential indicator of possible future zones of massive sulphide gold with associated zinc (VMS gold). Both our geographic area and our style of mineralization is known for VMS gold and Maudore is constantly exploring for similar deposits which could lie somewhere within our present resource area, and particularly in the areas far to the west of the resource.
Exploration Drill Results greater than 5.0 g/t gold (West of Greer occurrence)
-- 6.7 g/t au over 0.6m (COM-11-771), from 80.9 to 81.5m (near surface),
included within 1.8 g/t gold over 7.7m;
-- 6.3 g/t gold over 1.0m (COM-11-766), from 248.7 to 249.7m, included
within 1.9 g/t gold over 5.1m.
These two six+ gram holes enhance the potential around the 3.9 gram hole done in 1997 far to the south (about 2.5 km) of the resource.
Exploration Drill Results greater than 1.0 g/t gold (along the Potential Eastern Extension)
-- 1.6 g/t gold over 0.5m (COM-11-760A), from 70.0 to 70.5m (near
surface);
-- 1.9 g/t gold over 1.5m (COM-11-763), from 102.0 to 103.5m (near
surface);
-- 2.6 g/t gold over 0.6m from 57.8 to 58.4m (near surface), included
within 1.5 g/t gold over 1.7m (COM-11-771);
-- 1.5 g/t gold over 0.5m from 35.9 to 36.4m (near surface), 1.1 g/t gold
over 0.5m from 51.8 to 52.3m (near surface) and 1.1 g/t gold over 0.6m
from 242.7 to 243.3m (COM-11-780).
Drill holes COM-11-766 and COM-11-768 on the far side of the Greer occurrence and drill holes COM-11-780, COM-11-777, COM-11-763, COM-11-760A, COM-11-809, COM-11-795 and COM-11-801 are located all along the Eastern Extension between the Greer occurrence and the Camten Area of Osbell. Many assays are still pending along that trend.
Potential Western Extension
The Western Extension was already known for its Volcanogenic Massive Sulphides (VMS) occurrences, i.e.: VMS intercepts of 6.1m (COM-10-554) to 16.1m (COM-10-415) and anomalous base metals values of 5.7% zinc and 1.4% lead (COM-09-262). This area was previously identified as a prime target area for potential gold-bearing VMS (refer to N.I. 43-101 Technical Report).
The same area has returned 9.0 % Zn and 1.6% Pb over 0.6m from 123.6 to 124.2m (COM-11-775) included within 3.3 % Zn over 1.8m. This new intercept is located (on Section 1100 E, West of Bell Area) less than 100m to the north of the 5.7 % Zn and 1.4 % Pb over 0.5m intercept obtained in drill hole COM-09-262. New significant gold results were obtained at the westernmost end of the Osbell Resources Area confirming gold potential in the Western Extension.
-- West of the Bell area, 13.1 g/t gold over 0.6m (COM-11-782) was obtained
at only 11.3 to 11.9m from the surface.
-- Drill hole COM-11-799 has intersected 1.4 g/t gold over 1.0m (from 101.5
to 102.5m), 300 meters from the resource, in mineralized mafic volcanic
rocks.
New zinc intercepts from the eastern end of Osbell Resource area (Camten)
Drill hole COM-11-815, from Camten Area, section 2937.5 E, returned two broad intervals anomalous in zinc. The first, near surface, with 1.2 % Zn over 13.9m from 64.4 to 78.3m and the second with 1.2 % Zn over 17.4m from 115.6 to 133.0m. The second interval is associated with a broad gold-bearing interval grading 1.3 g/t Au over 10.4m from 118.6 to 129.0m. The gold-zinc association is common within the Camten Area.
NOTE: Gold grades (g/t Au) are expressed uncut and over core length. In most cases, core length and true width are close to being the same given the dip of the drill hole and the strike and dip of the mineralized zone. Estimated true widths are in the range of 80% of the core length. Values were rounded at 1 decimal point.
On-going Drilling Program
In the winter months, roughly half of our rigs will be assigned to the territory far to the West of the Comtois Resource ('greenfield') as they are somewhat swampy for most of the year and are best drilled through ice. The other rigs will concentrate on exploring and gradually extending the Eastern and Western Extensions ('step out').
Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC)
Maudore's exploration program is supervised by Alain Carrier, M.Sc., P.Geo., of InnovExplo Inc., a consulting firm based in Val-d'Or (Quebec). Alain Carrier is a Qualified and Independent Person as defined under Regulation 43-101 guidelines. Comtois exploration is conducted under strict QA/QC protocols including mineralized standards, blanks and field duplicates. Half of all sampled core is retained for future reference, and assaying is performed by ALS Chemex laboratories in Val-d'Or (Qc) and Timmins (ON) (fire assay with AA finish and gravimetric finish for results above 3 g/t Au).
The values for the 673.0 g/t gold sample and surrounding samples were obtained by Metallic Sieve assay protocol (total pulverization, screening, multiple assays and weighted average of the coarser and finer fractions).
About Maudore Minerals Ltd.
Maudore owns 100% of the Comtois Gold Project in Quebec. Infrastructure is excellent: a highway; accessibility to North America's lowest cost power; plenty of nearby water and a mining oriented local workforce. Quebec is consistently ranked among the best locations worldwide for mineral exploration. The Company owns a large land area west of Comtois with volcanogenic gold/massive sulphide (VMS) potential. VMS gold deposits are more common in Quebec than anywhere else in the world. Maudore's total land package, now 95,000 hectares (235,000 acres or 367 sq. mi), is larger than New York City.
Maudore has a drilling program with roughly 80,000 meters, all diamond core, completed in 2010 and 2011 with similar amounts planned for 2012. As well as the drilling program, the Company is active on development fronts - mineral resource estimation, metallurgical test work, environmental baseline studies, and community relations.
The current Inferred Mineral Resource (August 15, 2010) at Comtois is 8,126,000 tons grading 4.6 g/t Au totalling 1,212,000 Oz Gold, divided into a resource grading 3.2 g/t Au to 150m depth with open pit potential, and an underground resource grading 6.8 g/t Au. The estimate used a capping value of 65 g/t Au. For comparative purposes, the uncut resource is 1,400,000 oz. gold.
The Company has only 26.7 million shares outstanding with 30.3 million shares fully diluted. Insiders and institutions hold about 75% of the shares. Cost-effective financings in Quebec over the past year, have allowed the Company to raise all of 2011's and 2012's financial requirements at 55% to 92% premiums to share price, thus minimizing dilution.
On behalf of the Board of Directors of Maudore Minerals Ltd.:

GLOSSARY
Maudore classifies its drilling in the following categories:
Resource Drilling - Infill
The purpose of this drilling is to increase the confidence we have in our resource base. By reducing the spacing between our drill intercepts, we can add new resources and increase the classification of some currently Inferred resources to Indicated. Because we have a large amount of drilling in the Osbell deposit, we can target our drill holes based on our geological model. This results in drill holes that have a relatively high 'hit ratio' and are likely to come up with good grades. Ultimately, the size and quality of our resource will determine the scope and economics of a mine that could be built at Comtois.
Resource Drilling - Step Out
The purpose of this drilling is to increase the size of our resource base. We do this by drilling new ground near existing holes. Step-out drilling tends to be characterized by longer time frames between holes, a lower 'hit ratio' than infill drilling and lower grades. This is because we do not have the same understanding of the geological model as we do for infill drilling. We are doing step-out drilling in a number of places:
-- Eastern Extension: The purpose of this drilling is to extend the
existing Osbell mineralization along an additional 2.5km of trend. We
anticipate that this mineralization will be similar in character to
Osbell.
-- Western Extension: The purpose of this drilling is to extend the
existing Osbell mineralization and also to find potential VMS
mineralization. While we remain a gold company, the potential VMS
mineralization could contain economic amounts of copper, zinc, lead and
silver in addition to gold.
-- At Depth: This drilling can be targeted based on our existing
understanding of the deposit, but tends to take a long time and be
relatively expensive due to the significant depth.
Exploration Drilling -- Greenfield
Many methods are used to generate the targets being drilled. Greenfield drilling is to test the potential of these targets. The drilling has a low 'hit ratio' and the grades can be very variable, as we are exploring in untested ground. The returns to shareholders for finding a new deposit can be substantial, however.

Gold grades (g/t Au) are expressed uncut and over core length.
In most cases, core length and true width are close to being the same given the dip of the drill hole and the strike and dip of the mineralized zone.
Identification of the mineralized zone is based on a preliminary interpretation using plan and cross-sectional representations.
Values were rounded at 1 decimal point.
