Ressources d'Arianne to Hold Public Consultations on the Lac a Paul Mining Project
The project is currently in its prefeasibility stages. Nevertheless, with a view to responsible development, "the Company" is eager to hear from everyone in any way concerned with the project. As well, any and all organizations wanting to express their concerns, comments, suggestions, or any other question regarding the project are welcome to attend.
The process will be conducted within the framework of a UQAC Eco-Advising Chair research project on participative methods, and is in line with the Ressources d'Arianne sustainable development policy.
The evening's agenda includes a brief presentation of the project by Ressources d'Arianne President, Mr. Bernard Lapointe, followed by a discussion session led by the UQAC Eco-Advising Chair.
The Ressources d'Arianne project aims at mining and developing phosphorus-bearing deposits in the Lac à Paul sector of Chute des Passes, north of Lake Saint-Jean. The project could require a $325 million investment, create 250 jobs, and lead to significant economic spinoffs on the local and regional levels. Further benefits include indirect jobs and the purchase of goods and services from Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean suppliers.
