Management Appointments at Northland
LUXEMBOURG, LUXEMBOURG -- (Marketwire) -- 10/07/11 -- Northland Resources S.A. (TSX: NAU)(FRANKFURT: NPK)(OSLO: NAUR) ('Northland' or 'the Company') is pleased to announce new appointments.
Mr. Petri Peltonen, currently Managing Director of Northland Exploration Finland has been appointed Vice President Exploration. Dr. Peltonen has more than 20 years international experience in mineral exploration and research on several commodities, such as iron, nickel, gold and diamonds.
Before joining Northland 3 years ago, Petri Peltonen was Project Manager at the Geological Survey of Finland. As a Docent at the University of Helsinki, he taught economic geology, supervised M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses, and he has an extensive publication record with over 100 scientific papers. Petri Peltonen holds a Doctorate in Economic Geology from the University of Turku, Finland.
Petri Peltonen is succeeding Dr. Vladimir Benes, who will leave Northland to focus on his own company for exploration in Asia.

Northland has also appointed Mr. Petter Brunnberg as Investor Relations Manager. With Petter Brunnberg on board, Northland will step up its effort to inform the public and the investment community on the latest progress.
Petter Brunnberg recently was news editor for five years at E24, one of Sweden's most influential online business magazines. He has also served as a reporter and editor of the private investment sub-section Pengar24. Petter Brunnberg holds a Master of Science, Major in Economics, from Lund University.
Petter Brunnberg succeeds Mr. Shawn Morrow, who will leave Northland at the end of the year.
Northland is a development-stage mining company with a portfolio of iron ore projects in northern Sweden and Finland. The Company's Kaunisvaara Project will exploit two magnetite iron ore deposits in Sweden. The process will yield a very high-grade, high-quality magnetite iron concentrate. The construction of the Kaunisvaara project is well underway and production is planned to start in the fourth quarter of 2012. Northland has entered into industrial off-take contracts which will last for 7-8 years for the entire production from Kaunisvaara. The Company is also preparing a Definitive Feasibility Study for the Hannukainen Iron Oxide Copper Gold Project in Kolari, northern Finland. The study is expected late in the fourth quarter of 2011.
