(via Thenewswire.ca)
Vancouver, British Columbia - Titan Uranium Inc (TSX-V:TUE, FSE:T4X) is pleased to announce that the US Bureau of Land Management (BLM) published today its Notice of Intent (NOI) to develop an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Titan's Sheep Mountain uranium project, located in Fremont County, Wyoming. The complete NOI can be found at the following link: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2011-08-23/html/2011-21563.htm
BLM published its NOI within 10 weeks of the date Titan submitted its Plan of Operations (PoO) for the project to BLM (June 16, 2011). The EIS will be developed considering the PoO, public comments and baseline studies conducted by Titan over the past two years. It is anticipated it will take approximately 12 to 18 months to complete development of the EIS and to publish a final Record of Decision. BLM's Lander WY Field Office will schedule a series of public scoping meetings for September to introduce the project to the public and to seek input into development of the EIS.
Chris M. Healey. President of Titan commented; "This is an important step in our progress towards a fully permitted mine, and keeps the project on track for production in late 2013/early 2014."
