Katanga Mining announces departure of CEO
ZUG, SWITZERLAND, Aug. 5, 2011 /CNW/ --
ZUG, SWITZERLAND, Aug. 5, 2011 /CNW/ - Katanga Mining Limited (TSX: KAT) ('Katanga' or the 'Company') today announced that Mr. John Ross, Chief Executive Officer of the
Company, has resigned as Chief Executive Officer and as a Director of
the Company to pursue other opportunities which will allow him to spend
more time with his family. Mr. Ross' resignation will become effective
upon the earlier of December 3, 2011 and the Board of Directors of the
Company appointing a suitable replacement.
As part of the general succession planning of the Company, the Board of
Directors of the Company has identified an internal candidate for Mr.
Ross' replacement and would like to thank Mr. Ross for his continued
service during the transition period. An announcement on Mr. Ross'
replacement will be made in due course.
