(via Thenewswire.ca)
June 7, 2011 - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - Atocha Resources, (the Company), TSX.V - ATT reports it has engaged Fugro Airborne Surveys Corp. to fly a 439 line km, helicopter-borne, DIGHEM EM and magnetic geophysical survey on its Descouverte Property, in the Abitibi Region of Quebec.
Marcy Kiesman, President of Atocha Resources, states: "The DIGHEM survey on the Descouverte property will allow us to define areas for follow up exploration. The tight, 100 m line spacing, will allow good coverage of the property and should result in the definition of viable drill targets."
The Descouverte (Discovery) property consists of 3,877 hectares in 71 claims and is located approximately 10 kilometres to the southeast of Beaufield's Tortigny deposit. In Stockwatch on Sept. 30, 2010, Beaufield announced it had drilled parallel to the hinge of the fold and reported 4.20 per cent zinc, 2.72 per cent copper, 0.19 per cent lead, 500.93 grams per tonne (g/t) cobalt, 720.02 g/t silver and 0.53 g/t gold over 322.15 metres. In addition, in Stockwatch on Sept. 21, 2010, Beaufield reported it was revisiting its resources calculation of Tortigny deposit completed in 1997 by Noranda Inc. and adding the recent drilling to the model. In 1997, Noranda gave a non-NI 43-101-compliant resource 489,900 tonnes of 2.21 per cent copper, 6.15 per cent zinc, 0.24 per cent lead, 0.31 g/t gold and 60.08 g/t silver.
