Brosnor Gold Property / Spring 2011 Drill Program Completed
(via Thenewswire.ca)
Vancouver, B.C. - Upper Canyon Minerals Corp. ("UCM" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE: UCM) is pleased to report on the completion of its drilling program on the Company's Brosnor Property. The property is comprised of 18 claims, totaling 922.8 hectares, located in the Louvicourt Township, approximately 30 kilometres east of the town of Val d'Or, in the province of Quebec. The Brosnor property hosts gold bearing structures, striking east-west, in which quartz-pyrite-tourmaline veins, concentrated in more competent rock units carry gold values in various amounts.
The report and compilation of the drill program results has been delayed, waiting on the last assay results from Hole 11-34.
The QP on the project has reviewed the results from the recently completed program and has recommended 3-D modeling for the Norcourt Zone and IP Survey of the new drill holes.
Norcourt:
The continuity of the Quartz Feldspar Porphyry (QFP) is proven with economic grades of mineralized width. Which validates the past results of the upper mineralized zone in the volcanics and its lateral extension, 145 m further East (Hole 11-22).
Bermont:
The 4 test holes confirm the potential of that zone. The 5 mineralized zones of 11-34 are significant and indicate the opening up of the mineralized impregnation over widths ranging from 1.5 to 5 meters. These intersections are enclosed at shallow depth between 51m to 116.3m.
Permitting for development is progressing and an aggressive exploration program is being developed.
Tom Thomsen, President and CEO of Upper Canyon Minerals notes that: "the IP survey should aid planning of the new exploration-drilling program by electrically mapping out, for better establishing the full length and depth of the target zones".
Jean-Louis Robert, Ph.D. Geol., is a qualified person by the standards of National Instrument 43-101, he is responsible for the contents in this news release.
