Vancouver, B.C. - Upper Canyon Minerals Corp. ("UCM" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE: UCM) is pleased to report on the advancement of the field exploration program on the Company's Brosnor Property, comprised of 18 claims, totaling 922.8 hectares, located in the Louvicourt Township, approximately 30 kilometres east of the town of Val d'Or, in the province of Quebec. The Brosnor property hosts gold bearing structures, striking east-west, in which quartz-pyrite-tourmaline veins, concentrated in more competent rock units carry gold values in various amounts.

See News Release dated January 31, 2011 for program details.

The drill program, exclusively on the Bermont zone, aims at tracing a mineralized quartz-feldspar porphyry (QFP) zone between the volcanics and a lower ultra-mafic band traced sporadically by previous Noranda drillings. Our interpretation, of this QFP would constitute a marker zone opened vertically for more than 200 meters, according to former drillings.

The first hole, No. 11-21 completed February 23 at a depth of 264 meters, successfully intersected the projected QFP at the depth of 242 meters. The contact with the overlying volcanics is sharp. The QFP is highly altered and mineralized with about 3% of coarse pyrite between 242 and 245.8m., bearing the same characteristics as the previous reported QFP mineralized intersections. This QFP marker lies at the contact with the underlying ultra-mafic band. An upper (main) mineralized zone, in diorite, was intersected between 138 to 150 meters. That zone contains 2-3 % pyrite in quartz veining with 2% tourmaline and correlates well with Noranda's intersections. A total of 40 samples have been sent to ALS laboratory in Val d'Or. Results will be disclosed by press release as soon they are made available to the Company.

Hole 11-23 is on the western end of the 11 drill holes planned on the Norcourt zone. They are located some 30 to 50 meters apart between old drill sections and will explore a lateral zone of some 225 meters, the upper mineralized zone at a vertical depth between 125 and 250 meters and the lower mineralized zone around vertical depth of 250 meters with 2 deeper sections at depth of about 350 meters.

In parallel to the on-going drilling, 12.8 km of grid lines was cut over the Bermont and the Adelemont zones located further west of the Norcourt zone. An IP (Induced Polarisation) and magnetic surveys was completed as of February 28. Data is being interpreted and the company foresees some expression over the high grade gold values in quartz-carbonate veining intersected in the company's 3 test holes in the 2008 drilling programme, the best values in Hole 08-16 returning the following:

----------------------------------
|30.93g/1.63m|from|25.7 to 27.3m |
|--------------------------------|
|3.66 g/2.45m|from|42.8 to 45.25m|
|--------------------------------|
|0.94g/3.0m |from|49.4 to 52.4m |
|--------------------------------|
|2.69g/0.5m |from|66.5 to 67m |
----------------------------------

The Bermont zone lies at the western part of the property sharing the boundary with the Monique gold deposit that Richmont Mining is currently working at start up development . All of the zones, Monique, Bermont , Adelemont and Norcourt are enclosed within a mineralized corridor sandwiched between two ultra-mafic bands and most of the reported gold is associated in fractured silicified diorites/volcanics. Upper Canyon Minerals plans on further testing the Bermont zone by drilling 3 holes in order to get a better knowledge of the trend of this mineralized structure.

Tom Thomsen, President and CEO of Upper Canyon Minerals notes that: "UCM intends to successfully advance the project, moving it closer to being a near-term producer".
