THOMPSON CREEK ANNOUNCES OFFERING OF SENIOR UNSECURED NOTES

DENVER, CO, May 9 /CNW/ - Thompson Creek Metals Company Inc. ('Company'
or 'Thompson Creek'), a growing, diversified North American mining
company, today announced its intention to offer, subject to market and
other conditions, $300,000,000 of Senior Unsecured Notes due 2018. The
notes will be fully and unconditionally guaranteed by the following
wholly-owned subsidiaries of Thompson Creek: Thompson Creek Metals
Company USA, Thompson Creek Mining Co., Thompson Creek Mining Ltd.,
Langeloth Metallurgical Company LLC, Terrane Metals Corp., Berg General
Partner Corp., Berg Metals Limited Partnership, Cyprus Thompson Creek
Mining Company, Long Creek Mining Company, Blue Pearl Mining Inc.,
Thompson Creek Services ULC and Mt. Emmons Moly Company. The Company
intends to use the proceeds from the notes offering to fund development
of its Mt. Milligan copper-gold mine and for general working capital.
The notes will be offered and sold to qualified institutional buyers in
the United States pursuant to Rule 144A and outside the United States
pursuant to Regulation S under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended
(the 'Securities Act').
The notes have not been registered under the Securities Act or any state
securities laws and may not be offered or sold in the United States
absent registration or an applicable exemption from the registration
requirements of the Securities Act and applicable state laws.
