Geologix Appoints Mauricio Candiani Galaz to the Board of Directors
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/31/10 -- Geologix Explorations Inc. (TSX: GIX)(FRANKFURT: GF6)(BERLIN: GF6)(MUNICH: GF6)(STUTTGART: GF6) (the 'Company') is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Mauricio Candiani Galaz to the Company's Board of Directors.
Mauricio Candiani Galaz, MBA, is a Mexican citizen and currently President & CEO of Candiani Mining, a private consulting firm based in Mexico City, Mexico. In the last six years, Mr. Candiani has completed numerous divestiture and acquisition deals in the mining and energy sectors. He is experienced in executing equity and M&A transactions in several countries in Latin America, and has acted as an advisor to Southern Copper (Mexico), Endeavour Silver (Canada), La Camera (Canada), Mitsui (Japan), Interexport (Chile) and Tracerco (U.K.) amongst others.
Mr. Candiani is currently Vice President of the Mexico City Chamber of Commerce and a Non-Executive Chairman of Allenamenti, a company that provides in-house management training programs for companies in Mexico. Prior to starting his own consultancy, he was a founding partner at Sedna Serficor, a private investment banking firm in Mexico, and a former Executive President of the Mexican National Natural Gas Association.
Mr. Candiani also served as a Federal Congressman. During his tenure (2000-2003) in Mexican politics, he led an industry effort to reform the Federal Mexican Mining Legislation of which the bill was signed and enacted in 2005. He was also actively involved in the discussion of other pieces of legislation related to the energy business. He was previously employed as Analyst with the U.S. based consultancy Arthur D. Little.
Mr. Candiani holds a bachelors degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Universidad Iberoamericana and an Executive Masters Degree in Business Administration from the prestigious Institute Panamericano de Alta DirecciOn de Empresas (IPADE). He also attended a guest program of National Development at the Fu Hsing Kang Institution in Taipei, Taiwan.
The Company also wishes to advise that Mr. Eduardo Luna has changed from his position as a company director to an Advisor to the Board. The Company wishes to express its appreciation for Mr. Luna's continued future guidance to Geologix and past contributions.
