Skyline Gold Announces Leadership Changes
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/28/10 -- Skyline Gold Corporation (TSX VENTURE: SK) -
Mr. Cliff Grandison, Chairman, made the following statement. 'I have led Skyline Gold for 19 years bringing the Company from a difficult financial situation to its current position where the Company has a Preliminary Assessment of its Bronson Slope property and has assembled an extensive land package in the historic Snip mine region. At this time I believe the Company requires a young energetic leadership with a record of success in running a junior exploration company to exploit Skyline's significantly increased land position in conjunction with the Bronson Slope development. This new leadership will assemble a team that will compile and test the numerous excellent exploration targets held by Skyline. I am therefore happy to announce that I am relinquishing the role of CEO and passing those duties and responsibilities to Mr. Patrick Soares, P.Geo. who is accepting the title of Executive Director. Mr. Soares has a proven record of leadership in the exploration and development area, most recently with Brett Resources where he oversaw the development of the Hammond Reef property from a marginal deposit of approximately 2 million ounces of gold to an economically viable 6.7 million ounces when Brett was acquired in a friendly takeover by Osisko Mining.'
Mr. Soares commented, 'I am gratified by the confidence Mr. Grandison and the Board are expressing in me in making this appointment and am looking forward to working with the Skyline Gold management and adding personnel to that team as and when warranted by the Company's activities. I am very excited by the exploration and development potential of the Snip area, and I am looking forward to working with our Chairman, Mr. Cliff Grandison, Mr David Jensen, P.Eng., President and COO, and his team. The Snip Gold Mine camp in the Iskut Region has historic high-grade gold production and with the numerous underexplored gold anomalies on our properties in and near this camp, we turn our efforts to exploring and delineating high grade gold resources to increase the economics of the Bronson Slope project.'
The Board also created an Advisory Board. The first appointment to that board - Mr. John Zbeetnoff, P.Geo. a contract geologist whose most recent major assignment was acting as the Chief Geologist for the last three years working on Brett Resources Hammond Reef project. Mr Zbeetnoff looks forward to working with the Skyline team, in particular with Mr. David Yeager, P.Geo. contract geologist for Skyline Gold ,who has extensive technical experience in the area. The technical team shares Mr. Soares enthusiasm for the exploration and development potential of the Skyline properties.
Ms. Linda Hogg has acted as Corporate Secretary as well as her position as a director of the Company and as legal counsel to the Company. With the increasing activity of the Company at this time, Ms. Hogg wished to pass on the role of Corporate Secretary. Consequently the Board has appointed Ms. Connie Norman as Corporate Secretary. Ms Norman's most recent position was in the role with Brett Resources.
These changes are effective September 28, 2010.
Cliff Grandison, Chairman
