African Gold Group, Inc. Step-Out Hole RPA10-003 Intercepts 44 Meters of 2.11 g/t Au & 17 Meters of 1.65 g/t Au-New Gold Zone Opens Up Kobada South
TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 08/31/10 -- African Gold Group, Inc. ('AGG' or the 'Company') (TSX VENTURE: AGG) is pleased to report the analytical results for six (6) Step-Out Reverse Circulation ('RC') drill holes from the Company's recently completed (first half) 2010 Kobada, Mali gold project.
Near Surface Drill Highlights From Kobada South Step-Out Holes Include:
RPA10-003: 44m @ 2.11 g/t Au, includes 3m @ 19.30 g/t Au (hole ended in
mineralization)
RPA10-005: 37m @ 1.47 g/t Au, includes 5m @ 7.48 g/t Au (hole ended in

AGG is most encouraged by the assay results obtained from the three (3) step-out RC holes drilled on Section 2800S, more specifically:
-- These three step-out holes were collared approximately 200 meters south
of the mineralized envelope that contains the Zone 1 NI-43101 resources
estimate that was prepared by Watts, Griffis & McOuat and published on
SEDAR by AGG in May, 2008 - hence the designation as a 'step-out' hole.
-- RPA10-001 represents the most easterly located collar on the three (3)
hole fence. All 3 holes are drilled at Azimuth 290 degrees - or drilled
in a westerly direction. As RPA10-001 is being drilled to the west it
intercepts an ore grade halo of Au commencing at 60 meters thru 84
meters, down the hole, drilling west.
-- RPA10-002 is collared 50 meters to the west of RPA10-001 and it too is
intercepting an ore grade halo and the intensity of this halo is
increasing down hole, or as it is drilled to the west.
-- RPA10-003 is collared a further 50 meters to the west of RPA10-002 and
as it drills to the west it intercepts excellent ore grade material from
surface to the bottom of the hole - 75 meters - ending with a grade of
2.4 g/t Au in the final meter drilled.

Notes 1) Holes drilled perpendicular to Zone 1 strike
2) Step out holes to test for extension to the South
3) Minimum intercept is 3m at 0.3 g/t or the product 'Length X Grade'
greater than 0.9 g.m/t
4) Up to 5m of horizontal 'waste' within mineralized intercept
5) Sampling at 1-m interval
6) Results are uncut with higher grade results reported as 'includes'
7) QA/QC program in place
AGG is equally encouraged by the assay results for the three (3) step-out RC holes that were drilled on Section 2750S. It should be noted that the collar(s) of RPA10-004, 005 & 006 were drilled 50 meters north of the collars for drill holes RPA10-001, 002 & 003, respectively, (on section 2800S).
AGG project geologists observe and report that the results for the three (3) step-out RC drill holes, that are being reported in Table 2 above, are emulating the results of the three (3) step-out RC drill holes reported in Table 1 above, more specifically:
-- RPA10-004 is the most easterly collared hole on section 2750S, collared
50 meters north of RPA10-001 and it is intercepting an ore grade halo of
Au as it is being drilled to the west, similar to RPA10-001 on section
2800S.
-- RPA10-005 is collared 50 meters west of RPA10-004 and 50 meters north of
RPA10-002 and the intensity of ore grade intercepts is increasing. This
hole ends in mineralization at 110 meters down hole.
-- RPA10-006, collared 50 meters north of RPA10-003, is intercepting
excellent ore grade material and it represents the most westerly
collared hole on section 2750S. This hole ends in mineralization at 102
meters down hole.

AGG contends, 'we have opened our Kobada gold project to the south and to the west. Further drilling will be required to define the extent of this new zone of economic gold mineralization. It is too early to state definitively whether we have discovered a new lens of economic gold mineralization or if we are in fact drilling the southern extension of Kobada Zone 1. Regardless, this new zone of economic gold mineralization is considerably outside of the current NI 43-101 resource model and we will absolutely be adding considerable tons and ounces of Au to this model, in due course,' states AGG Senior Structural Geologist, Dr. Kevin Downing.

Kobada North Step-Out Results
On March 24, 2010 AGG issued a press release that reported on 24 RC drill holes that were drilled by a distinct, arms length corporate entity. It should be noted that 13 of the 24 RC drill holes were step-out holes that were collared to test for the presence of economic gold mineralization, to the north of the Zone 1, NI 43-101 resources estimate that was published on SEDAR in May, 2008.
The highlight hole from this campaign was drilled on section 1100S the equivalent of a 450 meter step-out to the north where KBRC9-20 intercepted 8 meters @ 7.74 g/t Au and 21 meters @ 4.89 g/t Au. A link to the March 24, 2010 press release is provided for the readers review: http://media3.marketwire.com/r/agg0324pr.
'We wish to emphasize that AGG's Kobada, Mali gold project represents a 216 sq km footprint contained within 3 contiguous concessions. As of this date, less than 10% of this footprint has been explored. We most recently reported on the results of our airborne survey that was flown over the entire Kobada footprint and that this exercise generated seven (7) structural targets. All seven (7) of the newly identified Target Areas exhibit geophysical characteristics that are similar to the mineralized structures contained within the Zone 1 deposit. All of the Target Areas are traversed by the favourable NNE and NE-SW mineralized faults. Six (6) of the Target Areas have coincident interpreted granitoid intrusions with evidence of hydrothermal alteration. All of the Target Areas have shown evidence of historical and/or current artisanal mining. We are most enthused about our prospects for developing this exciting gold project in Mali, West Africa,' states AGG President, Michael A. Nikiforuk.
Under the guidelines of National Instrument 43-101, the qualified person for the Kobada Gold Project is Mr. Pierre Lalande, P. Geo. Mr. Lalande is a member of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario and has reviewed and approved the contents of this news release.
Sampling - QA/QC Program
RC cuttings are recovered at the bottom outlet of the RC rig cyclone into 50-kg capacity poly-weave bags to recover the cuttings from each 1 metre of drill penetration. Each one meter sample weighs an average of approximately 19 to 23 kg. Each sample is passed through a 3-tier Jones Riffler (1 to 8 split), the samples are riffled twice to obtain from 3 to 5 kg of cuttings which are put in a numbered sample bag. Each bag is sealed and dispatched to the ALS Chemex laboratory located in Burkina Faso. The remaining 14 to 18 kg of cuttings (field rejects) are stored in camp under tarps to protect the bags against the elements.
Original samples are analyzed using Leachwell on 2 kg of pulp. Leachwell is a bottle roll cyanidation procedure with the addition of a catalyst to speed up gold dissolution. A QA/QC program is in place and includes: blank (1 in 20 samples), duplicates (1 in 20), standards (1 in 20), external lab checks (1 in 30) and two different analytical procedures check (1 in 100).
African Gold Group, Inc., based in Toronto, Canada, is engaged in the identification, acquisition and exploration of prospective gold projects that are situated along significant gold trends within West Africa. To date, the Company controls a total of twelve gold concessions that are consolidated in five distinct standalone exploration projects, of which three projects are located in Ghana and the remaining two are located in Mali, West Africa.
