First Nickel Announces Ratification of Agreement With its Production and Maintenance Employees Union
TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 07/30/10 -- First Nickel Inc. ('First Nickel' or the 'Company') (TSX: FNI) is pleased to announce that ratification of a three year Collective Agreement with the Sudbury Mine, Mill & Smelter Workers Union Local 598 (CAW), which represents its Production and Maintenance employees was reached on July 29, 2010.
The Collective Agreement was ratified with 95.6% of the membership voting in favour of the agreement.
The Company has successfully negotiated three year Collective Agreements with both of its unionized groups in 2010 being the United Steelworkers Local 2020 which represents the Office Clerical and Technical employees and the Sudbury Mine Mill & Smelter Workers Union Local 598 (CAW) which represents the Production and Maintenance employees.
First Nickel is a Canadian mining and exploration Company, whose principal asset is the Lockerby Mine near Sudbury, Ontario.
