Forum Uranium Corp.: James Allan Appointed Rare Earth Advisor
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/29/10 -- Forum Uranium Corp. (TSX VENTURE: FDC) is pleased to announce the appointment of James Allan, M. Sc., P. Eng. to Forum's Advisory Board. Mr. Allan has had considerable experience in the evaluation of rare earth mineral deposits during his tenure as exploration manager for Unocal/Molycorp in Canada. Jim will counsel Forum on new rare earth acquisition opportunities and advise on the upcoming exploration program on its Nutaaq rare earth discovery in Nunavut.
James Allan is a geological engineer with over forty years experience with major mining and petroleum companies including Amax Exploration Ltd. and Unocal Canada Ltd. He has held senior positions in mining exploration and exploration management, property evaluation and mining geology. Jim conducted and managed exploration and evaluation programs for a wide variety of mineral commodities in Canada, the United States, Latin America, the Philippines, Australia and the former Soviet Union (CIS) resulting in a number of mineral discoveries and property acquisitions. Jim was manager of mineral exploration for Unocal/Molycorp in Canada from 1982 to 1990 where he evaluated a number of rare earth properties in Canada and the United States and managed an advanced exploration program on a rare earth deposit in eastern Canada.
As an independent consultant, he has evaluated mineral deposits, prospects and exploration areas and managed field exploration projects for several clients. He has also conducted due diligence studies, written qualifying reports, reviewed qualifying reports for the Canadian stock exchange and conducted, as a senior member of separate teams, major evaluations for the Canadian federal government and the World Bank, including a past producing rare earth mining complex in central Asia.
Mr. Allan has a BASc (Geological Engineering) from the University of British Columbia and an M.Sc (Geology, Engineering) from Queens University and will act as Forum's Qualifying Person on its rare earth exploration and acquisition activities. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the Provinces of Alberta and British Columbia.
