Rock Tech Announces Assay Results from Second Phase of Drill Program
VANCOUVER, July 11, 2017 /CNW/ - Rock Tech Lithium Inc. (the "Company" or "Rock Tech") (TSX-V: RCK; Frankfurt: RJIB) is pleased to announce assay results from the second phase of the drill program recently completed in the Aumacho area of its 100%-owned Georgia Lake lithium property in the Thunder Bay Mining District of Northwest Ontario, Canada.
Martin Stephan, Rock Tech's Chief Executive Officer, commented, "We are pleased to announce the assay results from the second phase of the winter drill program. These results show that in yet another region of the Georgia Lake property, significant lithium mineralization is present. This particular area of the property hosts at least three lithium-bearing pegmatites of which two were tested during this program. Assay results from the channel sampling program completed last year showed high-grade surface mineralization. One intersection in particular showed an average grade of 2.93% lithium oxide over 4.02 metres, including one metre grading 4.42% lithium oxide and we are encouraged by the continuation of high-grade lithium mineralization at depth."
Mr. Stephan continued, "The lithium-bearing pegmatites tested remain open along strike and downdip and, interestingly, exhibited elevated levels of rubidium, cesium and tantalum that warrant further investigation."
Summary assay results are presented in the following table:
Drill Hole | From (m) | To (m) | Length (m) ** | Grade (% Li2O) |
AM-17-01 | 48.00 | 48.85 | 0.85 | 2.03 |
AM-17-02 | 45.07 | 49.00 | 3.93 | 0.65 |
AM-17-02 | 57.48 | 58.83 | 1.35 | 2.24 |
AM-17-03 | 61.37 | 66.50 | 5.13 | 1.13 |
AM-17-03 | 74.28 | 75.58 | 1.30 | 1.34 |
AM-17-04 | 59.47 | 64.50 | 5.03 | 2.76 |
AM-17-05 | 64.75 | 70.94 | 6.19 | 1.78 |
AM-17-06 | 48.97 | 51.30 | 2.33 | 2.45 |
AM-17-06 | 60.00 | 62.00 | 2.00 | 2.77 |
AM-17-07 | 68.33 | 70.20 | 1.87 | 2.68 |

A total of seven (7) drill holes totalling 584 metres was completed to confirm historic results, assist in modelling the orientation of the lithium-bearing pegmatites and provide a more robust understanding of their potential. Drill hole AM-17-03 extended the pegmatite along strike to the west where it remains open. The assay results also showed anomalous values of cesium, tantalum and rubidium.
The results from the channel sampling program completed during 2016 confirmed the presence of high-grade lithium mineralization with one sample showing an average grade of 2.93% Li2O over 4.02 metres, including 4.42% Li2O over one metre, provided a better understanding of the geometry of the lithium-bearing pegmatites and were an integral part of planning these drill holes.
This region of the property hosts at least three lithium-bearing pegmatites which, collectively, have an historic resource estimate of 776,074 tonnes grading 1.63% Li2O (Pye, 1965); however, the historical estimate does not use the categories set out in sections 1.2 and 1.3 of NI 43-101 and a Qualified Person has not done sufficient work to classify the historical estimate as current mineral resources or mineral reserves. As a result, the lithium-bearing pegmatites in this region are not included in Rock Tech's NI 43-101 resource estimate.
Drilling was completed by Major Drilling Group International Inc., one of the world's largest drilling services companies, and the drill hole samples were submitted to, and analyzed by, Actlabs, an ISO 9001:2008 certified analytical laboratory located in Geraldton, Ontario.
All scientific and technical information in this news release concerning the Georgia Lake lithium property was reviewed and prepared under the supervision of Locke Goldsmith, P. Eng., P. Geo., an independent Qualified Person to Rock Tech.
About Rock Tech Lithium:
Rock Tech Lithium is an exploration company focused on acquiring and exploring properties in the field of lithium and other selected battery metals.
Rock Tech is the only exploration company in the Georgia Lake region with an NI 43-101 resource estimate. The resource estimate shows an indicated resource estimate of 3.19 million tonnes grading 1.10% lithium oxide in addition to an inferred resource estimate of 6.31 million tonnes grading 1.00% lithium oxide. Further, the Company has completed metallurgical testing on a bulk sample demonstrating the ability to produce both a high-grade spodumene concentrate and battery-grade lithium carbonate ("Li2CO3"). The spodumene-bearing pegmatites of the Georgia Lake area were originally discovered in 1955.
