Lorraine Copper Corp. Receives Exploration Permits for British Columbia Projects
Within the last two weeks multiyear exploration permits have been issued by the BC Ministry of Energy and Mines authorizing mineral exploration at both the 100% owned Lustdust Project located near the community of Fort St. James BC and the 100% owned Ok Project located near the community of Powell River, BC. Both Lustdust and Ok are advanced exploration projects purchased in 2016 by Lorraine Copper Corp. to augment the 49% interest (Teck Resources 51%) that it has in the Lorraine Project. In 2017 Lorraine Copper will implement field programs at both projects.
Lustdust is a carbonate hosted and related porphyry system that includes gold-silver-zinc mantos, gold silver rich copper skarn, limestone hosted gold, porphyry Cu-Mo (Au) and precious metal vein mineralization. Three hundred and fifty-eight (358) drill holes totaling 71,000 meters have been completed. An initial resource was published on a small area of the mineralized system in 2010 (R. Simpson, P.Geo: Technical Report, Canyon Creek Copper-Gold Deposit, Lustdust Property, Omineca Mining Division, British Columbia; prepared for Alpha Gold Corp.). At a 1.0% Cu cut off the indicated resource is 1.25 million tonnes grading 1.33% Cu, 1.43 g/t Au and 33.0 g/t Ag and the inferred resource is a further 3.12 million tonnes grading 1.12% Cu, 1.37 g/t Au and 25.4 g/t Ag.
Ok is a porphyry copper-molybdenum deposit consisting of six zones of mineralization straddling a five kilometer distance. One hundred and sixteen (116) drill holes totalling 18,950 meters have been completed at Ok. An inferred resource has been published (November 2006) on one of the zones (North Lake), (N.C Carter Ph.D, P. Eng: Technical Report Prepared on the Ok Copper Property, Powell River Area, Vancouver Mining Division, prepared for Eastfield Resources Ltd.) At a 0.20% Cu cut off the inferred resource at Ok is 86.8 million tonnes grading 0.31% Cu and 0.014% MoS2.
Lorraine Copper Corp. also owns a 49% interest in the Lorraine copper-gold project (Teck Resources 51%) located 35 kilometres north of the Lustdust project.
