Orvana Announces Change in Leadership

TORONTO, Feb. 22, 2016 /CNW/ - Orvana Minerals Corp. (TSX:ORV) (the "Company" or "Orvana") announced today that Ms. Daniella Dimitrov is stepping down as a director and the President and Chief Executive Officer ("CEO") of the Company to pursue other opportunities. Mr. Jeffrey A. Hillis, CPA, CA, Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") of the Company has been appointed Interim CEO. Ms. Dimitrov will remain as a consultant to the Company to ensure continuity for a transitional period.
"Ms. Dimitrov joined Orvana as a director four years ago and then held the role of CFO until April 2015 when she was promoted to President and CEO. Her extensive contributions during her tenure have been integral to Orvana," stated Jacques McMullen, Chairman of the Board. "On behalf of the board of directors and the Company, I would like to thank Ms. Dimitrov for her dedication to Orvana and wish her well in her future endeavors."

The board of directors of the Company is currently undertaking a process to appoint a new CEO and has engaged an executive search firm to assist in the process.
Mr. McMullen added, "Mr. Hillis has been with the Company since April 2015 and has vast experience in the industry. I am confident that the Company will be in great hands while the Board conducts its search for a new CEO."
