Drilling Discovery by DIOS on Heberto Gold
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sep 9, 2015) - DIOS EXPLORATION (TSX VENTURE:DOS) reports a diamond drilling discovery on HEBERTO GOLD. The first drill hole completed on HEBERTO yields 4.79 grams gold per tonne over a 8.65 meter true width (from a depth of 18 to 26.65 m) comprised within a larger envelope grading 2.13 grams gold per tonne over 22.90 m (from 7.50 to 30.40 m). Almost all core samples were one meter long, splitted in two and assayed by Fire Assay Fusion with Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy finish at ALS Minerals in Val d'Or.
Mineralization consists in 1-5% mm quartz (carbonate) and/or 5-30% biotite (magnetite) stringers associated with traces to 3% pyrite and traces of chalcopyrite, hosted within a plurimetric north-south striking sheared potassic altered contact zone between a tonalite and a diorite. Characteristic potassic alteration is made of pervasive and/or fracture filling silica and biotite with more or less microcline; microcline component is generally better developed in most foliated sections.
Other similar metric to several meter altered shear zones with minor disseminated (trace-1%) pyrite within tonalite and/or diorite also returned gold values: 1.03 g/t gold over 1.50 m or 0.64 for 3 m (44-47 m); 2.02 g/t gold on 1 m (62.50-63.50 m); 0.784 g/t gold on 1 m (94.80-95.80 m).
HEBERTO GOLD is the first target drilled on this large James Bay wholly-owned AU33 property near EM-1 hydropower facilities. Core logging and sampling, with usual industry standard quality controls such as blank inserts and duplicata was supervised by Harold Desbiens, M.Sc. Geo, 43-101 Qualified Person and V.P. of DIOS.
