Claude Dufresne Appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of MDN Inc.
Seasoned professional recognized worldwide for its expertise in the niobium market, Mr. Dufresne was responsible for the sales and marketing of ferro- niobium produced by the Niobec mine from 2001 to 2012. He also developed a knowledge and expertise in the field of ferro- alloys, industrial minerals and certain base metals. As president of Camet Metallurgy Inc, Mr. Dufresne participated in various economic assessment studies in the field of ΓÇïΓÇïrare earths, niobium, manganese and bauxite, and acted as a supplier of various raw materials to the steel sector. Before foundering Camet Metallurgy Inc. in 2008, Mr. Dufresne served as Director of Marketing at Iamgold Inc. and also worked with the corporate development department of the company. He has 10 years' experience as a metallurgist and mill superintendent for Cambior Inc in Quebec and in Guyana, S.A.
Mr. Dufresne graduated from Laval University in 1991 with a degree in mining engineering with a speciality in minerals processing. Mr. Dufresne is a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec.
Mr. Dufresne will concentrate its efforts toward the development of the Crevier project (niobium and tantalum), while ensuring the creation of value for the Company assets in Tanzania. Messrs. Marc Boisvert and Serge Bureau will remain at the service of company and will, respectively, focus on finding partners for the assets in Tanzania and on the development of the Crevier project.
