Stillwater Mining Company Reports Death of Employee

BILLINGS, MT--(Marketwired - Dec 4, 2013) - Stillwater Mining Company (NYSE: SWC) (TSX: SWC.U) (the "Company") today reported an incident occurred late evening of Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at the Company's Stillwater Mine. Mike J. Rued, 45, a Sandfiller employed at Stillwater since 2007, was found unconscious on the 5600 level of the mine and could not be resuscitated by first responders. The cause of death is not known at this time. Mr. Rued's family has been notified. Representatives from the Federal Mine Safety and Health Administration have been contacted and are on site. Our thoughts are with Mr. Rued's family at this time.
