Avanti Announces Appointment of New President & CEO and Management Succession Plans
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Oct 1, 2013) - Avanti Mining Inc. ("Avanti" or "Company") (TSX VENTURE:AVT)(PINKSHEETS:AVNMF) is pleased to announce management succession plans beginning with the promotion of Mark Premo to President & Chief Executive Officer of the Company effective October 1, 2013. Mark has served the Company as Chief Operating Officer since June 2012. Craig J. Nelsen, the Companies current President & CEO, will assume the role of Executive Chairman. Prior to joining Avanti, Mark was the President of Chevron Mining Inc., which owns and operates the Questa Molybdenum mine in New Mexico. Mark is a professional engineer with over thirty- five years of experience. He graduated from Michigan Tech in 1977 and spent his entire career with Chevron.
The Company will also shortly begin the search for a new CFO who will work closely with AJ Ali, the Company's current CFO, as Avanti completes the mine finance package and Mark continues to build his operating team. The Board recognizes AJ's unique skill set in project finance and his primary mandate will be executing the Company's financing strategy.
