Nighthawk Appoints New Members to the Board and Grants Options
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Jul 16, 2013) - Nighthawk Gold Corp. ("Nighthawk") (TSX VENTURE:NHK) is pleased to announce that it has appointed Ernie Eves and Luc Lessard to its board of directors (the "Board").
Mr. Eves was a member of the Provincial Parliament of Ontario for nearly 24 years, and served in numerous legislative capacities including Minister of Finance, Deputy Premier. He later became Ontario's 23rd Premier. A lawyer by profession, Mr. Eves is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the bar in 1972. He was appointed a Queen's Counsel in 1983.
Mr. Lessard has been Senior Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Osisko Mining Corp. since 2011 after serving as Vice-President Engineering and Construction from September 2007 to March 2011. From January 2000 to November 2006, Mr. Lessard was General Manager of Project and Construction for Cambior Inc., and then Vice-President of Engineering and Construction for IAMGold Corp. following their acquisition of Cambior Inc. in November 2006, until his departure in 2007.
Mr. Eves and Mr. Lessard will be replacing John McBride and Thomas Pladsen, who have stepped down from the Board. The Board wishes to thank Mr. McBride and Mr. Pladsen for their valuable contributions as founders and continued supporters of Nighthawk.
In addition, Nighthawk announces that its Board has granted stock options exercisable for 3,800,000 common shares to directors and consultants of Nighthawk. The stock options were granted under Nighthawk's Stock Option Plan at an exercise price of $0.12 per common share. Each stock option entitles the holder to purchase one common share for a period of five years.
